New Empire Ventures began in 2010 as a property investment and management company. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, New Empire Ventures owns and operates multiple properties in the United States and Hong Kong.

Hardy Good, Chairman & CEO
As Chairman and CEO, Hardy is responsible for the operations of New Empire Ventures and MiniCo Self-Storage. He has more than 36 years of experience underwriting self-storage property and casualty risks, 20 years of experience with business operations in mainland China, and has traveled to many Asian countries. Hardy attended Ohio State University and spent a short time in Ohio politics before moving to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1965. In 1974, Hardy and associates began Mini Storage Insurance Corporation. His entrepreneurial efforts identified the self-storage market as an emerging industry in America and one in need of customized insurance products and services. Combined with attention to customer service and quality products, Hardy’s extensive experience led to the successful development of a well-organized and diversified company. He is respected in the industry for his leadership and diverse accomplishments.

Marilyn Leslie, COO
Marilyn is responsible for the operations and tactical and strategic planning for New Empire Ventures and MiniCo Self-Storage. She has more than 35 years of accounting and financial experience in both the private and public sectors. Marilyn has over nine years of experience in Hong Kong performing site evaluations, due diligence and financial analysis of prospective buildings as well as involvement in daily operations including management, banking and financial reporting. Formerly, she was the CFO of MiniCo, Inc., and a senior manager for the “Big 4” accounting firm KPMG where she acquired tax compliance expertise in federal, multi-state and local tax areas with emphasis on corporate and partnership structures. Previously, she was controller for a larger multi-state publishing company. Marilyn graduated summa cum laude from Howard Payne University in Texas.

Henry Chan, General Manager, MiniCo Self-Storage
Henry is responsible for the commercial and residential storage operations of all MiniCo Self-Storage locations in Hong Kong. He also works closely with Ms. Leslie on strategic planning and marketing initiatives for the company. Henry has over 21 years of management-level experience in the areas of accounting, personnel, purchasing and inventory, security, and multi-location site administration. He has extensive experience working in the Hong Kong and Chinese markets and speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
